The mission of the Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP) is to revive and enrich communities through the upliftment and transformation of youth. Self-esteem and self-confidence flow naturally from YLTP and empower youth to take responsibility for their own communities.
The training is an intensive 2-week residential program, which begins with the Art of Living Course. On this course young people (primarily 18-30 years of age) learn powerful breathing techniques that create a basic shift in attitude, and an infusion of positive energy. These techniques eliminate stress in mind and body and provide the foundation for leadership training. Participants learn how they get stuck in patterns of negative behavior and how the breathing can help them get un-stuck.These techniques, coupled with ith a simple, natural form of meditation, brings deep relaxation and are practiced along with yoga and vigorous physical exercise for the duration of the program.
During the second phase of YLTP, participants learn to organize and teach a community development course, Breath Water Sound, which empowers youth to execute service projects that improve the quality of life in their own communities.
